I initially lost my first bit of hair in August. Diagnosed in October. Took pictures in October, December, and now February. (every 2 months)

I had steroid injections on October 3rd, but opted not to have them anymore, since my insurance did not cover Alopecia. I noticed new growth, though no color to it, but do not know if it was due to the injections or not.

Had considerably more hair (with color) when I took my next pictures 2 months later..and now, I am happy to say, I have even more growth. No steroid injections. No treatments at all.

I know that my hair will fall out again, and likely will fall out worse the next time. Just the cycle of Alopecia. I will take what I have while I have it though. Love you all, and thanks for your support.

Just booked my flight to LA for the NAAF Conference, and have a roomie (YEAH!!!) I am so excited to meet all of you who are fortunate enough to get to go.
Who knows where I will be with my Alopecia come the end of June, but I am still just me.

Thanks Paul and Alice! Yes, it does, on the insurance...I was told it was 'cosmetic', so it was not covered. Well, acne is too, right? I was also told that acne can also lead to other medical problems...LOL...SO can Alopecia...just ask my poor aching head. That's okay with me...I don't want injections in my scalp forever anyways, but still feel the need to speak up, for others who might. Paul, I have missed chatting with you!

It's still thin, but I am amazed at the regrowth! Thanks Jeffrey! I try not to focus on it every day..and in my mind, it's still the same as it was with the gaping bald spots...so I have to do a double take anytime I look...LOL!

Oooo, Diana, that's great!

Also, can't blame you about the shots. I was too chicken to even try them in the first place.

Yeah, Angie, my head was swollen for days afterwards...knots on my head. I can't imagine the shots now...my head stays so sore all the time anyways, w/o the shots..I don't think I could take it now...not at all. I will never forget the look on the nurse's face the day they diagnosed me...her face said it all...she looked like I was being given a death sentence...made me really think...."WHY does she look so gravely at me right now?"

Thank you so much Jeffrey!! You can tell me that all you want to hon :)
