Travelling with a wig! Tips, please

Hiii everyone! :)
My name is Emilie, and i am 16 years old.
I have had alopecia since i was 12.
I have tattoed eye brows and getting tattooed eyeliner very soon!
I also wear a wig.
I have 2 that are exactly the same, so i can wear one sometimes and the other one other times.
I also have another one for sleeping when im at friends houses and stuff.
I straighten my hair every day even though it ruins the hair, because since i have a wig, i want my hair to look perfect. No one knows i wear a wig except my closest friends. Yet i think other people know, at school, but they dont say anything about it and they dont care. wich i think is great! :)

alrighht, im going on a school trip in a month and a half.
Im going to Australia for a little more than 3 weeks. I will NOT be in a stabble hotel, i will always be travelling around. We are not spending more than 2 days at the same spot.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks or advice on traveling with a wig.
i dont want anyone to find out. My 2 best friends are coming and they know so they can help me :)

is there anything i should know before i leave?

please help me if you know anything about this! OR if you've ever travelled like this, what is your experience. And if you have ideas for me please tell me ! :)

thank you so much! this site is such a great support!

They sell boxes that have a wig head built in to it to travel with wigs. I bet you could find them on Ebay or thru email to Yaffa. They are not small though. They are bigger than the wig head.

Hi Emilie, I'm wondering what kind of wig you wear? But whether it's glued on or just on a web base you can sleep in them much easier if you take along a satin pillowslip as it doesn't 'pull' on the hair. I've slept in all kinds of wigs, even suction wigs, and it's not too uncomfortable. If you are okay with taking your wig off at night you can wear a bandana to bed. I wouldn't bother with a wig stand. All you have to do is take off your wig and put it in a bag for the night. I hope you have a good time in Oz.

Hi Emilie, how fabulous that you are going to Australia!!! I don't know what kind of wig you wear, but I wear a lace wig where I sewed 3 metal clips in the back of it. I just flew to Las Vegas and was concerned that the wig clips would set off the metal detector at the airport, THEY DID NOT!!!! Had no problems getting through. I purchase a plastic wig stand that is collapsable so it doesn't take up much room in your suitcase.

Good for you! You seem like a very bright 16 year old. I wish you safe travels. I agree with the collapsable wig stands they work great and they help them stay in shape.. If hiding it is needed then i usually fold it nicely in what I get my wigs shipped to me in.. which is like a shoe box:-) I wrap it up in tissue paper..Let us know how things worked out for you ..

Great tips, community! Thank you all. I'm going to Clearwater Beach. This place is fantastic! You can look at it here https://worldcams.tv/united-states/clearwater/beach (that's a live stream from a webcam located there). So, I had many concerns about it. But now I know what to do ^^
