So I have had this page for some time now and Ive just been reading other people's blog's, to see if I am doing something wrong. I've been researching this condition just recently. I've actually had Alopecia all my life but nobody ever told me thayt it would progress. All my life I've seen doctors and they say you have Alopecia never the type or that it would be a chance I would lose all my hair since I was born with it. I had beautiful hair and long I would always get a few patches here and there but I never had to worry because I always had enough hair to cover those spots and it would always grow back. But now I have full blown Alopecia Universals and its hard it will be 2 years in March and at first when I lost my hair I tried to be positive and not pay it any attention but how could I not waking up ugly

I often type strange things in the search line and add the words YouTube. All kinds of great videos pop up, like alopecian gals teaching you about applying make-up, buying wigs, etc. Give it a try to see some BEAUTIFUL bald women and how they achieve their looks. You already have a great start!

Hi Chantel, I can attest to your story, I went to doctors, and had treatments and to this day not one has ever diagnosed me with alopeica. However it is evident. But I need you to know within yourself that you are so far from ugly... Yes as woman our hair means a lot to us, but you are not defined by your hair. Look in that mirror, and tell yourself you are AMAZING, and you are VICTORIOUS. TELL YOURSELF THAT EVERYDAY!!! BECAUSE YOU HAVE BEEN FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE!!! And you are not alone......

I have had problems with AA since 2008 I save my money and went to alternative doctor and he had had me on a strict diet and just in 3 weeks my hair is growing back! Worth a try its been hard but the diet includes meat nuts fruits and vegetables and every once in a while I have a vegan sweet:) hope this helps the way he describe it to me as you have to rid the inflammation from your immune system all starts with diet:)

Hi Chantel, I know how hard this is...I started losing my hair at age 14 and just this past year have lost all my hair at age 33. Let me tell you though, you are a strong, beautiful woman. How do I know this? It takes strength to speak out, to voice your feelings, to acknowledge how painful this process can be. I think that it is hard for people without alopecia to understand how incredibly hard this disease can be to deal with. Are there worse things that people out there are dealing with? Absolutely! Does that fact make dealing with alopecia easier? I don't think so. So let yourself feel what you are feeling but don't let alopecia define or worse, consume you. Know that you are not alone and that you are a beautiful, vibrant woman who deserves the very best life has to offer. Good luck to you!

You are not ugly!! I remember feeling that way and I still have my moments. God gave us extra pretty faces, and even more beautiful personalities and spirits, to make up for the hair. Don't forget that.
