It's been 2 months since Devin was diagnosed with having alopecia areata. I'm happy to say that his hair has started growing back but it is growing back white. I'm excited as well as anxious to see what the next few months and years will bring. My family has been so supportive and definitely gave me the strength to be a strong mom for Devin. I'm content with what he has and I'm okay either way. He's still too young to fully understand what is going on but every now and then he'll ask if he's is going bald and check to make sure his hair is growing back. We've stopped using the steroid ointment since it really is not a treatment or cure for what he has. I kinda feel like it just gives you high hopes when all it does it thin out his poor little scalp. Other than that, life couldn't be better. He's doing well in school and has many friends. He enjoys playing basketball as well as watching his favorite players on tv.
