So the last blog I posted I told you all about how I was recently diagnosed with Alopecia Areata. I tried the Saline Solution and it did not work, I then tried the 7 steroid shots into my head. Unfortunately it did not work for me. In fact it has only gotten worse. I still encourage others to try the shots. They were not that painful to me but I still say if you have not tried them yet defiantly do try. I was recently told to try tea tree oil. Have any of you tried it and had success? I also have noticed and maybe it is just me that it seems like my hair falls out more when it is humid. Have any of you noticed that at all?

Hey,
I've had AA for almost 10 years. The shots began to work for me after I made drastic changes to my diet and eliminated a number of foods. I've tried everything over the years: shots, creams, onion juice, essential oils - you name it. Once I had a blood test and eliminated the foods that it indicated I was sensitive to, my hair has fully regrown.

I did this many years ago when I was younger, eliminated wheat, sugar, dairy, caffeine etc and all my hair grew back then, too. Unfortunately I became lazy and went right back to my old eating habits. Last year I gave it another shot - and it has been tremendously successful, with my eyebrows coming back as well. Also try biotin supplements, I found that I was deficient in biotin, which lists alopecia as the first symptom. I also take vit d3, b complex, and vitamic c with msm (supposedly promotes hair growth).

Good luck! I've been there and remember it well.
