Upper cervical chiropractic treatment

Hi! My 14 year old daughter has had alopecia for 12 years- alopecia universalis for 10. Recently we were told about upper cervical chiropractic treatment. The belief is that the "body has the natural in born ability to maintain health at its optimal level while the body is balanced and there is no interruption in the transmission of brain messages to the body". Yes, that is a direct quote! Anyway, we have started this therapy. I was wondering if anyone else has had heard of it and more importantly have had success with this type of treatment. Supposedly, there are not alot of chiropractors who practice this type of treatment. It is a commitment of 9 months and about $3,000. While I know nothing is guaranteed (and we have tried lots of treatments with little to no success). I just don't want to build my daughter's hope up for nothing. Would like to hear that at least one person has had success with this treatment for alopecia.

I am contacting NAFF in the morning to see if anyone there has heard something.

Thanks!

Thanks Aimee1 Definitely not building up her hopes- she is doing enough of that on her own. We went to a new patient orientation and they are saying that they are different from normal chiropractic care. We have been to 4 of the treatments and she is also saying that she feels better when we leave. The care is in 3 stages- lasting 9 months altogether. We are going to try it for a while and see what happens. The doctor is saying that they have had success with auto immune diseases: asthma, ezema and alopecia. I have called NAFF and they haven't heard of this care either. I am just trying to find someone who has heard of it and/or has had some success with it.

  • Hi I know this is a old post, and not sure if this treatment worked. I just started my daughter with Healing Hands which is a bit of chiropractic. She tested my daughter using a sergeant, and found which as we know a auto immune is in the digestive area. She also tested positive for fungus, we just started with enzymes in the am, and supplements, esp a liver cleanse. Trusting God that her hair will be back growing soon.
