He everyone, I have had hairloss for a while now but I still don't know what I truely have. I just wanted to see what you all thought. I had very very thick hair before all of this. I started to lose it in clumps all over my scalp and I had 1 bald spot when it first started. Then the bald spot grew back but my hair continued to shed from all over. It just seems much much thinner then it did. About 9 after the hair started my eyelashes, nose hairs, vellus hairs , well hair from all over started coming out. I don't have bald spots but hair from all over just keeps on falling out. I washed my face today and lost 6 eyelashes from one eye and 8 from the other. I wish that my doctor would do a biop. so I know what I am up against. If it is going to keep on doing this I am ready to shave it but if it is CTE then is this a good idea? Thankyou all for your time and help, Erin

hi!! you need to say to your doctor to make de biopsy right now, and say to him that you have doubts that it could be areata although you hair looks pretty good in your pics, so whatever it is...it is not very strong, maybe you have very low iron or vitamins but if your analysis and fine, it could be areata...it depends you really think that your hair that you are lossing from all over you body is anormal?....if it is what you think so, i think it could be areta, but it is just an opinion, but if i just look at your pics...it looks like a CTE and not very agresive....i dont loss so many eyelashes but i use to loss about 10 or less it depends eyebrowns a day, i shaved my head to 0 (2 times in a year) it doesnt change anything just you dont see your hair falling out for 2 months because it is less appreciable so it is good if yor are lossing too much to have less stress, more o less how many hair are you lossing a day??

hi, thankyou for the reply. My hairloss goes through times where it isn't tons but still more then what it use to be before hairloss started. Then there are times that there are tons I don't really count it. but when I blow dry it there are hairs all over everything in the bathroom. And a big glob of hair in the drain of the shower. At the beginning of the year I brushed and ran my hands through my hair and counted how many I lost then and I just stopped touching it at eighty. Because it just made me panic. All my blood test are fine now. I did have low iron a year ago but it is better. I am very stressed now but I am scared to take anything because all of that medication says that it can cause hairloss and this is one of my reasons for being stressed. I don't want to make it any worse. I will call him and make an appointment. Do you where hairpieces when you shave your head? If so are you comfortable in them? Where do you get yours?

today i washed my hair and i lose 120 hair, i am washing my hair every day to know how much i am lossing, i bought a wig a very bad one by internet 20$ from eeuu, i doesnt look natural at all, so i have to wear a hat and then nobady can tell you that it is not real and with the hat it looks like my hair, but without it ....it is very weird on top and it looks fake...so i always use a hat,,,,i got my hair cut short like a boy right now,,,because i shaved 3 months ago the last one.
if i am confortable with it??..in winter is ok but in summer you can imagine... at first it was very weird to wear a wig because you know that u have somethig in your head, it was a sad sensation for me, then you get used to it

This is for Erin. I developed frontal fibrosing alopecia about a year after getting breast implants. I know because that's when the raging scalp itching began. Gradually my eyebrows began to disappear also, especially my left one. It alarmed me and got me to a dermatologist. I then got diagnosed and began taking Plaquenil. But more and more, I began to believe that my implants were causing the alopecia and well as joint problems and increasing neck pain. The day after getting them removed, the scalp itching stopped completely and the neck pain got a little bit better.
