Hi Danielle! You're right, lace wigs can be rather expensive. But there are some organizations that offer wigs to children for free (or a reduced price) - The ones I know off hand are - Wigs For Kids, Locks of Love, and Hair Club for Kids. If you google search these you should be able to link to their websites and get additional info. Good luck with this and keep your spirits up!

Hi Danielle,
Yes lace wigs are VERY expensive and even when they reduce the price for those of us who have a hair disease, cancer, or any other medical condition they are still out of some of our price ranges and we still cant afford them. I use to be a member of Hair Club for Kids and its i really nice place just be warned that when you are close to turning eighteen you will have to start paying...and some of those prices are crazy expensive...or at least they were in 2007...

I wear human hair and synthetic wigs. I get compliments and second glances. I do a great job styling mine. Danielle you seem to have a great sense of style also. I pay about $100 - 200 for my supply maybe every 3 - 6 months depends on the season and type. Human hair costs more, but requires more upkeep. I started back wearing synthetic because it keeps my skin more clear and my hair fresher in the summer--cause I can wash the hair.
I just make it part of the regular expense and keep it moving. If we were to go to the hair salon every week or two weeks, we would pay what about $50 to 80 dollars for a wash, blow dry, relaxer, etc. So it really does even out. And guess what, we get to change our look whenever we want to. I'm not brave to try new styles unless I am on vacation when I can look more daring. But I wear a pretty conservative style from day to day. Be encouraged ladies!!!

Question--is anyone having skin problems as a result of using the wigs---rashes, itchy skin, discoloration, breakouts. . . ?? If you have some ideas or tips I would love to hear from you.
