i am si glad i had found it as i dont think i would've gotten thro the last few months without the support on here, people r amazin, the gd thing is everyone here knows exactly how u are feelin so wen u post a blog wen ur feelin crap they know wat u mean and that helps alot,
i will always stay on this site even if my hair keeps growin i will always give support to others like the support i have got, all my friends n family know i come on this site and they think its fantastic as they must find it difficult to give the rite support,
i would reccomend this site to anyone who is going thro the same, and its also made me realise that i would love to have a support group in my area so am lookin to start one up,
thanks alopecia world for the support and makin my life easier to deal with love u all for this, xx

I have been so busy that I haven't been able to be very active here, but it has been a very caring and compassionate community from Day One. It's very comforting to exchange thoughts with others who can truly relate.
Wishing you all the best Thanksgiving ever:)

You gave me identity when mine fell out. You gave me community when I thought I had to face the world alone. You gave me laughter and friendship and a renewed belief in myself. You taught me I could be a teacher. You believed I really do have something to say. You participated when I asked for stories for Boldly Bald Women. You gave your fears, your disappointments, your hopes, your courage and your successes. You cheered me on. You prayed for me when prayer was all that could get me through. You are a lighthouse in the fog of ignorance and indifference. You are organizer, follower, thinker and doer. You are meeting place where those whose path is alopecia have gathered strength and knowledge and lightened loads so we may walk with a spring in our steps and conviction in our hearts. I, for one, feel a welling up of grattitude each and every time the link from me to you and you to me connects. I cannot imagine my life without AlopeciaWorld.com. Thank you, thank you and thank you.

I'm grateful for AW because I can share fellings with people who fully understand me because they have the same.
I found this site when I was Googling on Alopecia, and I joined because I thought it was a good site, with a lot of members. I've only been a member for a couple of days now, but this is a very good site!

I am very grateful for Alopecia World because it has been my own place to go when I needed encouragement to face everyday life. I was a person who was avoiding life..I would only do the neccesary things in life. I avoided social situations as much as possible because I always has those stares and questions! Once I discovered Alopecia World I was happy to know that I was not alone, that there were others out in the world like me. I started to realize that shutting myself out of living life as it was meant to be lived was doing no hurt to anyone else but me and my family. Before Alopecia World I was angry and ashamed of what was happening to me! You have to understand that I have always been a very shy person. Alopecia World has helped me come out of my shell and I am now confident enough to try new things. With the help of the members of Alopecia World, I was able to finally put up a profile photo. I am taking a hip hop class and will be a part of the Spring Recital! Something I would have never thought of doing before. I have met some very special people here who have helped me along the way and this past year has been a journey of self-discovery as well. I am so appreciative and thankful for being apart of this wonderful Alopecia World!
Thank-you one and all.

Pam, very well said. I found Alopecia one night after I discovered large bald spots on my 8 year old daught last April. Your site told what she had before I even rushed her to emergency that night and saw her doctor the next day. It was very overwelming at first to see all the people who have Alopecia and think that my daughter's life as I always pictured it would be over. Now, I have come to accept that she will get through whatever may come as many many others have and have a happy fullfilling life. It is comforting to know thre are others going through the same thing. Thank you
Tracy

I am extremely grateful for Alopecia World because it gives a chance for people that are suffering from something completely life changing the support, comfortability to express and love others and themselves beyond a flaw.
