Why can't we?

Hi All,
I have been thinking about all of the lack of research/treatments/cures for our disease. There are so many great people on this site. Why can't we start something that raises money devoted to find a cure? I know two people who have a child with a condition (not alopecia and fatal unfortunately) that have devoted so much time and effort into raising money for a cure....and both work full time. I was just thinking if we really put some thought into this, could we make a difference? I have absolutely no ideas as to how to do this, but I just feel that if two parents can do something and really make money directly devoted to research, can't we?

The National Alopecia Areata Foundation (www.naaf.org) is set up to do just that. There are numerous individuals and organizations (some here at AW) that sponsor events to raise money to fund the research through this organization. While we are still frustratingly far from discovering a cure for this, I believe the NAAF is working hard to change that.

I so hope that some cure comes out and we all get free from this torture.Dont know when will that day come.
