Why do my ears turn red and burn when I wear a human hair wig? Maybe I'm allergic to hair! lol Wouldn't that just take the cake! Anyone else get this?

Is it maybe the chemicals they use to process the hair? Who knows cause even after it's washed and have had it forever I still get this every time!

I also have this happen to me. When i first get a new piece they wash it but i know the hair is coated with a protectant and they may not get it all off. After that I still get it if I use certain shampoos on the hair. I have found the way to avoid this is to use a fragrance free and dye free shampoo (i use Free and Clear) on the hair. You may also get this from some of the material of the wig itself. Some lace and netting will get my ears red and sometimes turn into hives. im looking into getting a freedom wig as I have heard the lining is great for sensitive skin. Also Follea has a wig line that is silk lined. Hope this helps.

What are Freedom and Follea wigs? I'll try that shampoo I've seen it at the store, but i feel it must have more to do with the hair it's self cause it does not occur when i wear my synthetic! I'll have to google those wigs and see what I can learn about them. Thanks for posting.
