Right now I am a film major at the University of Michigan. I am taking a screenwriting class where I have to write a full 90 page screenplay. My professor told us to write about what you know so it's simple but also make it interesting. I've decided to write about a 17 year old girl named Alex who has just be diagnosed with Alopecia as she goes into her senior year of high school. I would like to thank everyone who I have met with Alopecia for helping me through this writing process and being my inspiration. I lost my hair when I was 7 years old and haven't worn a wig since I was 13. I've been without a wig for the past 7 almost 8 years so at times I forget what it is like to feel traumatized by this condition. Alex helped me to remember how that feels and to understand how lucky I am to have an amazing support group, family, and friends who have all been there for me. Most of all my NAAF friends who I can always talk to when I'm having one of those "o shit I'm bald" days. I love you and thank you so much for being my rock!
