My name is Jim. When a huge amount of my hair fell out I got tired of trying to cover it up, so I shaved my head. My hair did eventually grow back but my doctor told me that once one has a significant amount of hair loss there's good chance the hair will fall out again, something I did not want to hear. The other thing is that I was upset about the difference between the areas of my scalp that were shaved and the large areas where the hair had fallen out. I was thinking of using hair remover to get the areas where there was still hair to match the bald areas, but I decided against doing that. I've got to say that even though I was very upset and embarrassed about the loss, I kind of got to like being completely bald. But, it was hard going from having a full head of hair to suddenly having a bunch of it fall out. I dread the day when my hair might fall out again. My doctor said that if it happens again there's a good chance that all my scalp hair will fall out. There's also the chance that the condition will morph into alopecia universalis. Oh well.
