so Rockport is too tame for you! Funny. I was only there one night- so I didn't notice that. I just enjoyed all the shops (spent way to much money), and all the homes/views and restaurants.
The study I did was to test a LED device to see if it can control/cure AA. It was through a Peabody holistic center. (should I say Peabdy- so where do you all put the "o"- ha ha!) Long story how I ended up involved but it all began with some research I found with laser acupuncture-- which they do not do in many states including MD. Bottom line from the study- it appeared to help regrow hair BUT didn't prevent or stop new spots from coming.
For years I've tried to stick to a more holistic approach- feel like I've done it all! And have seen many specialist. And the consensus seems to be the same' "we do not know what causes it, we cannot predict the course and we do not have a cure" ...fun! So far steroid foam works the best for me. How about you- what type of treatment are you using?
Welcome! I hope you find this site to be as helpful as I have found it. I just went to Boston for the first time last spring. Great city. Was also surprised how close it was- only a 6 hour drive from MD. While I was there I checked out several places and absolutely loved Rockport!! I was actually in Mass. participating in an AA study! small world....
Hi, this group is designed for children. I suggest contacted NAAF..www.naaf.com. I believe there is a group that meets in Needham. They can give you the contact info. Hope this helps..Cindy
Hi Richard, my name is Cindy and I am the parent to a 7 yr old girl with Alopeica. Through the Childrens Alopeica Project I have started CAP meeting in Hopkinton. Our 2nd meeting will be this Saturday from 1-3 at the Hopkinton YMCA. While we don't have any children your sons age attending we would love to have you and your family come.It will give you a great opportunity to meet other parents of children with AA. You can find my contact information on their website. www.childrensalopeicaproject.org or you can email me at cindy@childrensalopeicaproject.org for directions. Please don't feel like you have to shave your son's head. Alopeica is unpredictable and everyone's body is different. I suggest taking your son to see a dermatologist and see what he/she suggests. I take my daughter to Childrens Hospital and would be happy to give you her doctors name...I look forward to hearing back from you..Cindy
