I can't wait for my road trip! I am going to the Kentucky Derby in Louisville, KY. Not sure if you know what this is, but it is horse racing and everyone gets dressed up and the women wear these big hats! I have my hat, I just have to put it all together, I can't wait! I will post pictures for sure! I am hoping to have my spring/summer wig in time to wear it at derby. I am going shopping with my mom on the 9th!
Hi Liselle!
I would love to dive on the Great Barrier Reef - it has virtually everything that salt water has to offer in terms of ocean life. I've not had any experiences with sharks, so that alone would make me interested. Here in America, only four divers are killed by sharks per decade in US costal waters. It has been that way since they started keeping records in the fifties. It's surfers and swimmers they go after probable b/c they resemble things they do like to eat. Also, we don't taste very good to them - we're too boney.
I'll bore you with other stories later.
God bless,
Larry
I am a bit of a lurker at times too - especially on here. I am more active on some of the other places.
I am studying history - research methods using the Victorian census. It's a 10 week short course, so I thought: "Oh that won't be too bad", but it's turned into major workload!! I finish it soon though... just got to push myself for the next couple of weeks to get the assignment done and I will be freeeeeeeeeeee hehehe.
Hi Liselle!
I really like your attitude. If you want to wear a wig, then I hope you build up the courage to do it as soon as possible.
God bless,
Larry
Hi again Liselle. summer in Melbourne, has been wet wet wet and very humid, l lived on the gold coast for 6 months in the 1990 and it was very similar, the weather this weekend has been beautiful so far , but as they say in Melbourne beautiful one day skitso the next .
As for my needles , l have been getting them since 2001 and really they don't bother me at all .. l must have a thick scalp .. well that's what l tell my dermatologist .. l always give him a laugh when l am there , hes giving me needles and l am talking about how his week has been, l must say , l do have a high tolerance to pain
l know l shouldn't complain as l have told you l can disguise my patches by putting my hair up, but l cant wear it down anymore , l have always been very carefree person and love my hair down. l have been thinking of a hair piece , see what happens , might just shave it and put some very nice tattoos on my head .. lol might write on it , l am ok its ALOPECIA , that would turn some heads ..lol. like l said l am not going to let this get me down, but don't get me wrong l understand , completely
how you feel.
I hope you don't stay home for what is going on , everyone is fighting some kind of battle , but we are alive to fight it , trust me with this , lf there comes a time where l do loose all of my hair , l would go out nude , well you know what l mean by nude lol, actually my friends always say to me that it surprise them that l haven't shaved of my hair many years a ago. I know its not easy, in 2000 l had a major nervous breakdown, and l went down so low that l didn't think the sun would come out again, but it did ,l went through 4 yrs of counseling and very supportive friends and family the sun is staying out , like they say what doesn't kill us makes us stronger .
What part of qld are you from ? A very good friend of mine lives in cairns , she is an amazing person, anyway think l might go have a coke now ,lol , keep in touch and take care : )
Hi Liselle.. hope you are well... l haven't been on for a while.. Went to my dermatologist today.. more needles .. although l feel like l am fighting a loosing battle, l am still able to disguise my patches by putting my hair up and using a product called Toppik , its like a powder to give your hair a fuller look.. This group is great , although l don't write much or comment its helping me , there are so many remarkable people , there stories just inspire me ... anyway hope you have a great weekend and keep smiling : )
Hey liselle
thanks ,but i feel thick for asking her name when it was on the top of the vid,my only defence is that it disappears when its played .Anyway nice to meet you and if you wouldn't mind would you keep me updated on melissa's progress.
Hi Liselle... thanx for your concern...l have been well and behaving most of the time ,lol..I can still disguise my patches for now .. but l hate it when l have to brush it and see all the hair that's falling out .( Might just leave it and get some dreadlocks ..lol) . I always try and see the humour in any situation and l think that's what gets me through this .. l will keep in touch and let you know how things are .. Hope all is well on your side .look forward to hearing from you : )
Thank u for adding me! I also have the dreaded female pattern hairloss...and have straggly strands left. Get up the courage, girlfriend, and wear a wig. Yes, admittedly, it does take courage at first. Esp. when you go places that you see people who used to see you with the nightmare on your head (our head!!) I find that the only real hard part. Really hard. But get one, go have fun, try on at a local shop...then remember what you saw, and color and order online..soooo much cheaper...then go somewhere you know no one, and wear it....to get up some confidence. Let me know how it goes!!!
Hey :)
Yeah, this will be my third proper wig. I got my first one going into high school. I am comfortable without it now, but I still like to have them. I'm really lucky to be able to get it.
Being an Aussie alopecian, you may be interested - wigs have GST! Our government doesnt recognise suction-based wigs as medical prosthesis. They're considered asthetic. So there is a 10% tax on an already expensive item. Being that theres no cure, and not really any other treatment for hairloss, that's just wrong.
the Princess Charlotte alopecia foundation has a letter to the PM on their site for people suffering hair loss to send to ask for action.
Its so hard for women with such a misunderstood condition, and to have our government taxing us on a medical issue... its unfair.
:) thanks so much for your lovely comments :)
always good to hear from another Aussie and you seem absolutely lovely :P
have the best day ever :D
