Angela,
Thank you for your advice. We are encouraging him to keep in contact with friends. He has been emailing some but finally today he agreed to have a friend here - sleepover as well. Seems to be enjoying it which is positive.
Trying to encourage him in sport as well. He usually plays cricket in the summer. Have signed him up and hopefully he will go when training starts.
How are you going?
Hi Angela,
I am fine. Currently on my second week of a two week break from work.
Jon is currently suffering from anxiety (no doubt caused by his alopecia). He is refusing to go to school. He had 3 visits to see a counsellor to try and help him but after the third visit he wouldn't go back. The counsellor lost him i think because he was trying to get Jon to name any bullies at school who might be giving him a hard time. Jon refused and said that no one was giving him a hard time but the counsellor wouldn't let it go. So...Jon won't go back to see him and won't agree to see anyone else. He won't go on this site either yet. I am hoping that he will eventually.
I think this site is good. It allows you to communicate with others that are going through the same things. I think it is very important to continue to talk/communicate with others be they family, friends or other sufferers. Don't bottle things up but keep talking - i think all of us will be better for it.
Keep smiling - you have a beautiful smile.
