So the real hair wig isn't too bad so far. Just brush it before you put it on plus you can curl, flat iron it like you would your own. I'm pretty happy with it so far. Tonite is first washing but I don't think once a month will be any different than washing the dogs once a month... bad analogy? Maybe but it's the best reference I could think of:)

thanks. I totally know what you mean about people looking at you only to realize they like the cut and/or color:) It hasn't been too bad at all- a little itchy but I hope it goes away soon:)

I posted a picture! Don't mind the dog toys in the background. No shaving- I still have hair it's just thin. I think i'd have a really ugly bald head anyway....

yes I am wearing it out. I feel way more comfortable wearing it around strangers than people I know and work with. It just seems like a big difference when really people only notice my hair is a few shades different and a bit longer.

No, fortunately both my girls have long, thick hair. My Dad had alopecia so I was, and am, concerned that they will someday inherit the disease. Fingers crossed that they will take after their Mother in that regard.

I did find one. It's a lace wig- real hair. It's more of a strawberry blond but thats okay. I'll try to get some pictures up soon:) It feels so weird though. My hair is naturally fine and thin so this makes me feel like my head is huge. It will be interesting as time goes on and having to care for it. My little dog actually kind of growled at it when I took it off for the night; pretty funny haha. The woman that ran her place was amazing- she was so sweet and really wanted to find the best one for me.

Hi Donna- Its nice to hear from you. Coffee would definitely be great, it would be nice to finally meet:) Skiing was fun, I hadn't been skiing in McCall in forever and couldn't believe how much it'd expanded. I'm heading to Portland this weekend to see a friend and I think while I'm there I'm going to check out a wig shop. Wish me luck!

I stumbled accross your page by accident looking for human hair wigs, you inspired me.....I have lived with alopecia my entire life, and have had a wonderful life never letting alopecia stop me from doing anything. You are a beautiful girl, and have enjoyed reading your page!!! Very inspirational!

By the way, your hair looks great! I love the style and color.
