Hi Brandie,
I know how hard it is...I've been through it all. Had it for 30 years! I have accepted it, and written a book. Let me know if you need any help!

Actually I've never hear of it :) We don't make down that far, we like to drive up to Toledo and Michigan. Yeah it's nice to know I'm not alone :)

Hi Brandi, Nice to meet you. By all means what ever I can do to help. let me say I know exactly what you are going through, it is so scary. What I did around when my son was 5 and started school we went to counseling, and his school and my friend who has AU were also supportive. We did many things to keep Joe confident. I have to say AA did effect him, there were times my insides came out for him. But remember if they are not getting teased for this it would probably be for something else. So you have to empower them. My Joe is now 19, his AA isn't even a thought to him now. He is attending A Music Conservatory. I think having AA taught him how to focus on the positive. I hope this helped .

Best Wishes,
Maureen

Just me Brandy! Had to reply to your comment you left...I DID grow up on a farm! LOL!!! Loved the life and do miss it terribly. It's hard work let me tell you.
This wasn't traumatic for me at first. I did turn traumatic as soon as I noticed all the regrowth was falling. It was VERY emotional for me. It seemed I cried daily, sometimes hourly. I don't remember crying so much. I'd cry because I was sick of crying and then I'd cry because I'd get mad at myself knowing this could be so much worse. I must say I quit crying the day I shaved my head, there was a release there of a burden. I can know look at myself in the mirror..wether wrapped, wigged or bare. It's been a journey that surely hasn't ended yet.
Thanks for the response. Hope to get to know you more.

Welcome, Brandie!

I'm so glad you're here, as well. It's good for us moms to have each other for support. I think that being a mom with a little one with alopecia has it's own unique issues and concerns and joys. It's nice to know that there are others out there who understand them. Here in my home town, I have yet to meet any parents with toddlers who have alopecia, so it's a bit isolating.
Your little one is adorable! I hope you post more pictures!

HI, Brandie,
My name is Dee and I have had alopecia since the age of 2. I know what you mean by all the treatements that you were given. I think the shots for me were the worst. I hope you have a great day.
