that's fine. I'm sure a normal doctor would be able to prescribe them but I have never asked only my dermatologist. I have had Alopecia on and off for 5 years it will grow back then Fall out again.. But I have never used the current medications I'm on so hopefully this helps it to not fall out again.. Yes I have had a very stressful life.. Always things coming up.. But it's also a autoimmune disorder that ur body cannot fight.. Just go to ur doctor and ask about them see if they think they would help but I do have Alopecia areta different to u xx hope this helpsSarah

Pls show me a pic of ur hair now without a wig! Also ask for a lotion you apply onto scalp, it's called clobestasol 0.1% apply with cotton bud on bald patches. Worked wonders for me too there is a lot of things to try u just need to see more than one doctor I have

Wowsers you sound like you've been a busy gal :) I love burlesque dancing, so how did your performance go?? and what kinda costume were you wearing? bet the crowd loved ya :) Good choice of music, Imelda May is a fab and beautiful singer! Love her style too, I saw her perform 5 years ago and she commented on liking my top! As for me have been busy with my nursing placement and have been kinda dating a guy for the past couple o months :) My wig is a rene of paris one and I love it, I'm due for a new one so look out for some pics then :) As for the wee girl she's my adorable wee niece Cleo. She just turned 6 last weekend and I made her an Iggy from Moshi Monsters cake (she loves him!) Today is my birthday so after having flu all week I finally feel human *phew* so I'm gonna have a wee party at my flat tonight which I'm looking forward too :) :) and be proud to be bald and 40 Yippee *chuckles* Good to hear from ya lovely..... take it easy shO xx

The drug is called "methotrexate" maybe try it? and lotion is called "clobetasol" its fantastic. what type of alopecia do you have? the pics of me are of last december, and my hair is sooo much better, i have no bald spots and its about 3cm long, i never shaved or cut my hair when it was falling out so still have some long bits aswell so my hairstyle is very unflattering but i dont mind until it grows enough to cut into a bob. Is this your first time of having alopecia? are u bald all over? how does ur family and friends relate? also what are you doing to help condition besides the fusuion? Sarah xx

Hey, hope you're well. Like your mum, mine also doesn't think I should wear a wig...she says she can't see much difference but I find that hard to believe! Yesterday I booked a holiday and now I think I am finally realising that I will have to deal with wigs/scarves/hats sometime soon...by August I will have shaved for sure. Very worried about how to manage this situation while travelling around and staying in hostels or camping!I'll have to improvise! How are you doing? :)
Hey Jennah, I am going to buy my first wig soon...have been putting it off for so long but I am finding it increasingly difficult to do anything with this thin hair! Its a big step and my friends still don't know about it so not sure how to approach the topic. I was actually thinking of shaving it off in secret and just turning up in a wig one day! I guess I keep hoping that it will get better but after three years of thinking this I think I just need to take action now! Have a nice weekend :)

Hi yes it is my real hair :). I have lost my hair off and on. it usually cycles in a two/three year period gone and two years grown back. I have reached the two year mark and have only had small patches on and off, usually at this point and time its falling out pretty heavily. so i am really lucky at this point right now. sometimes i wonder if it is hormonal for me because your body goes through so maybe changes from age 7-21! idk its just a guess. but ill never know what will happen so im just happy for this blessing now! although i still dont have lashes yet and my eyebrows are still sparse. i am going to post my flickr account on my page in a few so people can look at the wigs i have worn and makeup over the last several years. ok i blabbed alot! - francie :)
Alopecia is so hard..deciding what to do with the hair you have left - to shave not to shave. It is also difficult to find a good wig, one to fit you as every individual is different, but the road to finding what is right for you - be it bald, scarves synthetic, human hair! It is all so confusing...hopefully I am on the right track...I just want some of my confidence back...I don't want to loose my spark...
