- I have two boys ages 5 and 2 years old. My five year old was recently dx with Alopecia. He has one big bald spot which we and the older neighborhood kids tell him is "way cool."
The dermatologist was vague about the statistics. I know everyone is different. Someone on this site stated that the only thing consistent about Alopecia is that it is inconsistent. I stated that quote to the dermatologist who said, "Perfectly stated."
We just focus on our son developing a good self-esteem - independent of Alopecia.
