- My name is Jory Mitchell, I have alopecia areata, which then progressed to totalis. I tried almost everything, cortisone shots, the lotion thing, (which did seem to help. Then I started taking a vitamin called biotin, which promotes fingernail and hair growth, I now have a full head of curly hair and I am willing to talk to anyone about my story!
