I have had such good luck with my wigs staying on!
I use double sided tape. It works great on both my custom made wigs and my inexpensive synthetic wigs. What are you using right now? They have tape in different strengths. The strongest I have is a blue tape I got on the Hair Direct web site: http://www.hairdirect.com/store/Blue-3-4-X-12-Tape-Roll.aspx
Hi- I've always had a special place in my heart for those of you who have the hair today, gone tomorrow situation. At a certain point because I loved the vacuum wigs (which are now even more comfortable), I shaved my head. It never came back anyway. On Thursday, as we do several times a year, the old neighborhood group of women met and one who has dyed her hair for 30+ years was showing me how thin her hair is becoming with almost a bald spot on the crown; she was not happy to hear the cost of these wigs but I also added that all of her hair would need to be removed to wear them. She was expecting an easy answer to beautiful hair which those of us with alopecia know is not there.
It's good news to hear that you are well otherwise. What are doing to help through this difficult period? Hugs, Susan
Hello-
Just read your profile. Welcome to the group. I turned 66 this summer but have been AU for at least 12 years (same scenario as you with most of the hair falling out in less than a year), but with a history of hair problems in my teens. My dermatologist looked at the family/genetic history of AU and didn't see much hope but we did try some steroid creams. How are you feeling right now? Susan
