- I was first diagnosed with Alopecia Areata as a teen, although I lost patches of hair as a child as well. Hair loss progressed to Alopecia Totalis and by the time I was in my sophomore year of college, I was completely bald. Now I am 28 years old and have adapted. It's great to find so many people are able to come together here to share their knowledge and experience.
