Hi Allie...I am very interested in the oral corticosteroids. I was first told about them in about 1994 by Dr. Vera Price in San Francisco. Will you please tell me about any side effects that you had during or after the year that you took them? I am told that they can make many people look and feel bloated and can have other unpleasant side effects in some people.

Hello my name is allie reed.i am 17 years old and have been dealing with this sience i was 12, i am from eastern kentucky. i also have AA. i have been looking through yur dissucions and i can realate to your daughters story. One day when i was in middle school i had a wig on and a child who didnt uderstand what was going on, and decidced it would be funny to rip it off my head and slide it down the hall. i then had to be takn out of school for a year. this is not the first time i have lost my hair, i have lost it at least 3 times and have ben very blessed to have it all grow back with the help of a year of oral steriods and steriods shots to my scalp. I would love to help your daughter through this, and just make sure you let her know she is not alone in this.
