I am a middle aged mom newly diagnosed with alopecia areata. By my estimates, if I want to wear a monofilament, synthetic wig (ex: Raquel Welch, Amore seem good) it will cost me about $100/month…Continue

Hi asdf234
I read your comments on the post you wrote for Tracey. I would be interested to know more about the candida cleanse and paleo diet.
I'm seeing a naturopath since July. She believes I have a leaky gut and that I need to cut out my sugar. I also just found out I have an underactive thyroid.
cheers

Hello and welcome!
How are you today?

I wear Raquel Welch blond, medium wigs with dark roots. Everyone thinks the ones I got (Breeze, Embrace) are real hair. My Breeze has lasted over a year, because I keep a clean head and wash only if the scent changes (food, smoke, sweat). NO plastic combs, NO pulling at the fibers, NO teasing and NO heat. Very little sunlight. I am 59, a teacher, and I have gotten away with one wig a year, usually bought for myself on my birthday...about $140 with the alopecia discount at my wig shop.
