I am new on this forum. I would like to hear from people with the same alopecia as mine (scarring alopecia caused by lichen planopilaris). My hair has always been falling out but always grew back. It was always thin but with the help of volumizing shampoos and sprays it looked ok. In the spring of 2012 I experienced the hair loss for few month but later it stopped and with the help of rogaine it grew back. In the spring of 2013 the story repeated itself, only this time it never stopped. I blamed my underactive thyroid but after reassurance of my endocrinologist that thyroid's levels are fine, finally in December I decided to see a dermatologist. I am so glad I did!. I lost a lot of hair on the top but I still have some to wear pulled back , although now the scalp is visible. For 3 months I been using Clobetasol and for two months I been on Plaquenil and taking injections. Also, using rogaine and I am noticing growth. I am also noticing less shedding but I am so depressed when I think about the future. Will I loose more hair?. Will I have to wear a wig?. I just can not imagine that day. I would be interested in your story. Do you still have any hair?. Is there anything that works on you?. Looking forward to hearing from you.
