- I'm a wife and mother of 2 boys, ages 9&7, who have all been diagnosed with AA, and my husband-38 y/o with AU, diagnosed at age 28. I have disagreed, however, with the dermatologist's recent diagnosis of my younger son having AA. His hair has not fallen out in round spots as my husband's once did (beginning at 28) and as my older son's continues to do(beginning at age 2). My younger son's hair is thinning all over, starting in the back and now moving to the front:(
