- My 11 year old Granddaughter was diagnosed with alopecia areata last month. She is almost bald on left side of her head.
It started out of the wild blue back in April of 2014. It is hard for her to go to school now and she is so self conscious. Our school system doesn't allow caps or any hair covering at all so it is getting really hard for her to cover the large baldness even with flipping her hair to the other side.
