This video's purpose is to show that even though some people suffer from hairloss for a very long time, regrowth is still possible. Can't say for sure if it...

You're all very welcome and thank you for your kind comments everyone! :D
Pat: Everyone's got their own timeline on acceptance and comfort levels, it will come but don't feel guilty for wanting to "hide" behind a wig. Sometimes people never give up their wigs and are perfectly accepting. I'll tell you a little secret though: finding freedom has nothing to do with your hairloss, it has to do with finding yourself! :)

Wearing a wig is not "hiding." There are many valid reasons for preferring to wear a wig rather than to go bare. Never feel guilty about doing what feels right for you!

When I refer to people "hiding" behind a wig it is implied that they have not come to terms with their alopecia. People who have come to accept their hair loss are not hiding but playing with their appearance, it is fun at this point and they can be open about discussing their alopecia with whomever, the shame is removed. Those who try desperately to fit in and appear that nothing is wrong with them and are in a stage of denial are the ones that are hiding and are essentially suffering. There is a difference!

Ahhh finding myself...yes! I am going through great changes this year, learning things about myself and how I operate in this world and making changes in my belief systems and a whole load of things to do with my relationships. It's been quite a journey but I am better for it. I think with my AU I am accepting of it - I certainly don't rant and rave and despair as I used to and I have gone out in just a bandana and not rushed to put on my wig when visitors catch me at home without it on - but I definately prefer to wear hair. It seems more 'me'. Most people in my life know I wear a wig, I don't hide it from anyone and yet I do still try to fit in! Methinks I have a way to go yet :)
