Boy! this thing is a mess. It's really hard to keep hope for regrowth. Well allow me to bring in some sunshine. I share with people as much as I can, so I was speaking to a lady and I found out that she had a spot many years ago. She said it last for a year then grow back (white, not gray). She said that was the first and last she every seen it!!
HOPE!!!

Sorry to put a damper on things -
I first had alopecia areata 25 years ago, it all grew back my normal brown colour.
Then about 4 years ago AA reappeared and the patches kept appearing and disappearing until last November when it stopped growing back. By this summer I had lost all my hair, including my eyelashes and eyebrows. I now get patches of white regrowth that keeps falling out.
There unfortunately is no saying what will happen next. I am just grateful I am not ill. It doesn't stop me doing anything that I want to do. My theory is not to hope for regrowth then I'll not be disappointed, just get on with life.

That is understanding Kathryn and we as a people have to do what works for us. This AA is something! Your theory is fine and there is nothing wrong with that. I never really been totally there with regrowth so I'm a rookie at this disappointment thing. It has not been a year for me yet. I am learning how to do make-up and try to wear and love it, before time.

You are so cute Gail. I used to have this long blond thick hair just like you had in the past. Now I have been for the last 2 years totally hairless top to toe. I also walk bald when it is warm outside and bald inside. I am totally fine about it. I am so much more then my hair. I am beautifull as ME. With or without hair we are beautifull!
I appreciate you making Alopecia more known in society. Thank you for your openess. I do the same in my life! Love, Anouk from the Netherlands.
