The View upset quite a few members of Alopecia World this week. After announcing that the newly crowned Miss Delaware Kayla Martell has alopecia areata, the show's hosts veered into a discussion about whether black or white women look better bald! After viewing this controversial clip, please share your thoughts. If you would like to send feedback directly to the View, go here.

They lost a great opportunity to talk about differences, bravery, and acceptance to talk about the Coneheads movie! Really? You started talking about beautiful Kayla and end the conversation talking about the Coneheads and the birthing process! Wonderful opportunity lost there ladies!

I emailed the view and have not heard a response..... I wonder why?

I wrote three separate times, and have heard nothing. Not surprising. I think we should keep sending them emails.

Lol, I expected no response. Still...because the continuation of the show depends on ratings and ratings depend on viewer watching or not watching (and buying or not buying products advertised), the point will be made. Whether they acknowledge the broadening of their education or not, those who have emailed have given the View something new to think about. A seed has been planted.

I can see how children watching this might feel oh they say white people with no hair look like they have cone heads and that equals ugly. that can be a very bad thing, over all I don't find it offensive but I wouldn't allow my child to see that at the tender age of 6 either.

Just like Adam Carolla says... this is an abortion of a show. If 5 men were up there blabbing about whatever the next thought came to mind whether it be on topic or not the show would've never made it to air

I agree with another comment above, the women on the view have no clue what they are talking about. They certainly show their prejudicisms. They certainly don't speak from a scientific or factual point of view.
Last of all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Bald is Beautiful.

I'm not offended myself, but understand how someone watching (perhaps newly diagnosed and nervous about it) could be. As most people have said before me, what must be remembered is how it's very easy for these guys to make quick passing jokes and comments when they don't really know anything about the condition. Maybe the joke would have been better received if a bald white woman made it? In all, it was clearly a bit of a laugh to make light of the subject, no offense was meant and shouldn't be taken:).
