Reading the struggles and the number of years you have dealt with it was inspiring n heart felt in each case. After, watching the news last night of the Oklahoma tornado and 2 schools including an entire city gone, made me see life is sooooo much more than hair!! How dare i think this could be the worse of all things especially wen i have my baby at my side n her health~I guess its because i was afraid of the unknown. Society has us believing one thing in the fashion world and is it really?…

Thank you so much. I have to tell her everyday that she is a beautifull little girl and that she is loved dearly. how did you little one deal with all the hair loss? my princess is talking about wigs.
Dear Jeanette,
I can relate to your story on so many levels. My daughter is 6 and lost her hair or began to lose her hair a little after turning 2. Right now she is completely hair free! She is the most adorable little girl. She is blessed to have her lashes and eyebrows which originally all fell out too and for that little miracle I am thankful.
But just like you said, my daughter knows she is beautiful. She says it and she is told and shown it at home but that does not change the fact that she WANTS her own hair like her mom. So here I am with these full head of thick dark hair and I cant share! I would trade spots in a milli-second!! Im very thankful for awareness and these new dollies that were created to help represent our little girls, but to be honest, by daughter is a girly girl and she wants dolls with hair! she wants to play with the hair and curl thenm and do all the things I did with my dolls. Point blank!
I havent tried any medicines/ointments and I have just recently considered returning back to a Dermatologist who has better insight into Alopecia for small children to see if there are things I can try that would not harm her in the long run.
Unfortunately, I live in Maryland and am not close to you because I would take you up on the offer of play dates. I havent found a single person on here that lives locally and is around her age. Which I know there has to be some other boys and girls around here!! :)
Although, I dont have recommendations for treatment for you, I just want to share with you that it is OK to cry and be frustrated for your child. My anxiety has changed in this whole process and will continue to change for the better and so will yours!
Hopefully, they will find a great healthy solution to Alopecia so one day, we will be talking about remember when.... Keep your head up...kisses to your baby girl and Tongue Out to Alopecia! :)
