Help request for 16 year old girl

It's been a while since I reached out for advice here but recent events have brought me back. My daughter will be 16 next month & is struggling with her alopecia. She is depressed, feels alone & is close to being hospitalized for treatment. She has been in therapy for at least two years, but has not come to the point where she can accept her condition & eventually take control of her life again. Tony- Welcome. Maybe it would help your daughter to start talking about it if she started by giving advice to younger kids on how to deal with the condition. You could show her some photos of the younger kids in the group and suggest she might help some of them learn to deal with alopecia by starting a chat or joining a group. Sometimes older kids love to help little ones and often when we help others we also help ourselves. It could be a way to get her comfortable communicating about it since younger children would not be her peers and she really could help others in the process.
