Running the half marathon in Houston, TX bald!

I am running the half marathon bald and plan to wear a T-shirt that says something about Alopecia Areata (haven't decided yet what the shirt will say), but I hope to bring awareness to our community. If you would like to run it with me, let me know. I have only run 3 miles before so I need to train, but I feel confident I will be able to finish in the name of my fellow Alopecians! :)

That sounds awesome! Good on you...I would love to run it with you but don't live in the US :(

Good luck with the training, make sure you build up the distances gradually so you don't get injuries.

You know, I never saw your reply. I was doing so great at exercising until it got cold! I can only go at 6am because of my kiddos. Anyways, I probably don't have the time to train now but if I happen to get myself in shape I would love to join you.

Since I'm in California and since even more importantly I am not in shape, I won't be running with you. But I will be with you in spirit. What an awesome thing you're doing! I hope you run like the wind, have a great time and teach a couple of people about alopeia. Be blessed!

Ingrid, I just saw this old post of yours. I think the billboard is a fabulous idea. I wish we could do that. It's all about raising awareness and showing people we're here, we're bald, we're healthy, and we're beautiful!
