I haven't been on this website in a while. The pain of Alopecia had over taken me. I didn't want to be reminded that i was born with a hair loss disease. I wanted to feel.. "normal". Days passed and I avoided all questions. I tried to stay away from anything that showed I was different. My whole school knows about my wig, and the support is amazing. Even with the support though, i'm bullied a lot.

Days passed and i didn't know what more to do. I was tired of faking smiles, and not being confident with my appearance. I wanted to have nothing to do with "alopecia" i couldn't accept myself.

I woke up one day though, and looked in the mirror. The first thing i saw was a genuine smile. Then deep brown eyes. After that, i noticed the way my cheek bones went up when i smiled. I noticed how my teeth were perfectly straight. Lastly, i noticed how i was bald.

Something inside of me sparked. Hair isn't what defines beauty! Its the inside. Its the way my smile lights up the room. Its the way my eyes tell a story! Feeling beautiful, is being beautiful! Ever since then i've had many opportunities at my school. I've been so much happier, its amazing!

I was recently featured in our local newspaper! I am the "No Place for Hate" President. (an anti-bullying league) I give advice to people in our school everyday. I never let anyone feel less than beautiful.

You know why? Because you ARE beautiful. I love the way you smile, and the way your teeth line up. I love the way your eyes tell your story. I love the way you talk, and the how original you are. I just thought everyone should know that. I just thought everyone should know that they are beautiful. Everything about them makes me smile.

So guys, never give up! I was so close to giving up. I thought i'd never accept who I was! I honestly wasn't happy, at all! But now, I've learned, the mirror lies. It doesn't show whats inside! And if your beautiful on the inside, it will shine through your eyes and smile. Your true colors do show! So keep your head up! You're gorgeous!

Hair loss is just a blessing in disguise! It just gives people a chance to look past our hair. It gives people a chance to see the beautiful people we are. :) It makes us so much stronger than we feel. It gives us the opportunity to know what its like to be missing something. It gives us endless opportunities!

The first step though, is accepting yourself. It took me a while to learn that, but now i know. So if you're reading this, you're beautiful no matter what. Hair, or no hair. You have the ability to shine and i know you will. I believe you can achieve the world.
