Does AA in children typically progress slowly or quickly?  Do patches appear over months, weeks or days?

To be honest no body knows, Each case is different. This is why this condition is so dam frustrating. It is a wait and see game.

AA has no predicted progression- it varies person to person. I was diagnosed at five years old. I would get patches here and there but it was easy to cover up. I consistently had some sort of manageable balding until age 25, I started losing it all and it moved from being localized to scalp to now my eyelashes and eyebrows.

A patch can appear over night or over time.. it all depends
