Hi, I have a metal wig brush (Wide Tooth Comb). The metal doesn't seem sharp or weapon-like and does look like a comb. I normally bring my wigs / dry supplies with me in my carryon bag when travelling by air. I've always brought my plastic wide tooth comb with me and reasonably had no problems. I'm packing my metal wide tooth comb and I'm just wondering if maybe I should throw that in my checked bag but just wanted to know in general if anyone has had issues bringing the a metal wide tooth comb (or similar) in a carryon bag?

I've read mixed comments online with other sharp hair styling products and haven't been able to easily find anything on the TSAs website. I can see how this could be used as a weapon but I've tried hitting myself with it (lol) and it only left a mark / didn't hurt so I don't think it could reasonably be used to stab anyone.

Thank you!
