Hello everyone.

I've just past the two-year anniversary of the start of my UA condition, and a realization has hit me this weekend that I wanted to seek some opinions on. But first, some context.

In the first half year with UA, I was smoking weed about 3-4 times a week. I started doing so just as my arm hair and eyelashes fell out, the last hair on my body, but soon after I developed peach fuzz all over my head. Within a month of smoking I began to get some eye brow and eyelash regrowth. After three months however my partner convinced me to stop, and the growth reversed. Over summer I began a squaric acid treatment, with no results. However this past week I began smoking 3-4 days a week again, and I've already noticed more head fuzz than I've had in a year. I searched this site for past posts about marijuana and two came up, both with some anecdotes of similar results, but the conversations petered out three years ago when they became focused on weed's legality. I hope to instead focus on the science and facts of its practical use, especially in light of the rapidly changing views towards the plant over the past few years.

And so I am wondering if there are any new members or opinions on this site on the potentials of cannibis in treating alopecia. I plan to ask my dermatologist about it on Monday and I will likely pursue a medicinal card once I move back to California this summer. I hope to keep with regular updates with how this goes.

What a coincidence. I'm watching Cash Crop right now as I type and it just was going over how weed can act as an anti inflammatory because of the reactions of the carbons or something. I wonder if that is relevant...?

I have smoked weed for 4 years, every single day (several times per day), and my hair just started to fall out 1 year ago. I cannot imagine that they are related, but anything is possible :)

I think I may have noticed so me regrowth from smoking marijuana, but haven't been smoking at all lately, and still having regrowth. If anything I would say smoking the green stuff couldn't hurt hair growth! : )

My daughter  "Molly" had UA and came we came across a few methods that re-grew all her hair back. She wrote about it,

"Alopecia and Wellness" I would love it if you would read it and talk with her about your experience. She is very knowledgeable with the Science of Alopecia. You two would have a lot to discuss with both of your experiences. Her Book is on Amazon. Hope to here from you....Janis and Molly
