I have AA along with Hyperhidrosis for pretty much all of my life and I'm starting to think there's a connection somehow. I also have a really bad case of acne, which refuses to go away no matter what I do, I have gone on everything short of accutane. I'm 22 and well past puberty, so I'm thinking it has something to do with a hormonal imbalance or something that is causing all three symptoms.

Does anyone else have these? What do you think is the main cause?

This sounds very unpleasant for you. It does seem likely there would be a connection between your conditions. I have recently stopped all my meds for my alopecia and am trying to get my body to regulate itself using anti inflammatory diet. Dr Joel fuhrman and dr Andrew Weil have details on this for free on their websites. I also juice lots of veg once a day. I am not saying this is a cure but you will find your body can better heal itself and regulate it's various functions when we eat in a more holistic way to boost our health. Good luck with searching for answers and finding relief from your conditions.

I had Acne also as a young adult, never had it as a teenager tho. I used tetracycline for a decade before it just quite working for me, then nothing seemed to work. I ended up using the Accutane it was the lowest dose and no more acne ever. I did not develop the AA (totalis) until I was in my forties crazy but it followed a complete hysterectomy and I do think hormones played a big role in that for sure. just as I believe it may be a trigger for acne/

Yes!  We have a lot in common.  I have had hyperhidrosis for as long as I can remember and I struggled with moderate acne throughout my teens and early 20s. The acne has improved quite a bit with time but I do still get minor monthly breakouts.   (no meds really worked for me either)

About 6 months ago I was diagnosed with AA (never had it before and I am 30) and within about 4 months it progressed to AU.  I think there is a definite hormonal connection because the AA suddenly started as soon as I got pregnant.  3 months before that I also had a miscarriage so I suspect the swing in hormones triggered the hair loss.
