alopecia and toxic mould

Does anyone know if there is a connection between being exposed to toxic mould in a house and alopecia totalis? Mother in the house got very sick and had to be hospitalised and doctors put it down to a 'virus' , and teenage son lost all his hair.

I know that I'm allergic to some "average" molds and I have personally linked it to the coming and going of my own hair so it wouldn't surprise me if there is some kind of connection. I don't know anything that says so for sure, though. Sorry.
