Hello guys!
I'm new to alopecia world and just thought I'd let everyone know about my situation and keep people posted on progression.
Basically I realised I had a small spot of hair missing on my beard about 2 months ago, at first I didn't really notice it as I didn't particularly know about alopecia well enough to know that that's what I was suffering from. The patch got bigger until it covered a large chunk just under my chin. I then got another patch on my right cheek which is also slowly growing.
I've never experienced any problems with hairloss and it doesn't run in my family.
Upon going to the doctor recently I was prescribed "Miconazole Nitrate". I checked online and looked at a few forums which hyped it up quite a bit, with more research I saw some hype on youtube as well. This made me quite excited about using it.
I don't know exactly how the science works in terms of using this product, but I have been using it for 4 days, and I have seen 3 single black hairs appear inside my bald patches.
On a negative note, however, I'm having spontaneous very little tiny patches appearing in new places around my beard (one zig zag line on my chin, a straight line near my ear, a few tiny pixel dots around here and there)
I'm going to keep everyone updated with my progress with miconazole nitrate - the doctor has told me to use it for 3 weeks and then come back to her.
Has anyone else used this product?
What were the results?
Can anyone suggest anything else I should be doing to ensure hair growth or at least to prevent more hair loss?
Personally I'd say I wasn't a very stressed person - so the main cause being stress confuses me - more so I think it may be to do with my sleeping pattern, possibly my diet, or blowing out extremely hard this summer after university - alternatively, I did go through a break up before the summer which could have lead to some intense stress which started to show afterwards?
Nevertheless,
please comment and let me know if you're going through the same issue with alopecia barbae/using the same product etc

I am not a guy, but I have also seen the YouTube Hype on Miconazole Nitrate. I tried it for 6 week and did experience some hair growth in patchy areas. I read that if you use the product all the time your scalp becomes immune to it. I've pushed back from using it (til later) and now applying cold pressed castor oil to my scalp daily to promote hair growth in patchy areas. Phenomenal progress!

Keep looking up - God is looking down!
