I noticed some thin-ness on my beard in March 2019. I then noticed small spots all around my beard. I went to my primary care doctor, and they said they didn't notice anything. I insisted something was there. They eventually tested me for thyroid (normal) and then Vitamin D (a little below normal). In late June I went to a dermatologist. They said I had alopecia on my beard. They gave me steroid cream (Elocon). I used it for about a month and a half, but not every day. It also caused acne. About 2.5 months after starting it, I don't think much has changed. If anything, there are more spots.
Can anyone give me advice on anything else I can be talking to my Dermatologist about? Other things to try?
There can be some problems with your metabolism. Or maybe your skin gets irritated because of the shaving cream you are using, or it can be caused by something else. For instance, when I was using a shaving brush that I've bought from leonidam.com, I noticed some small red dots on my face. At first, I was confused, but then I've changed my shaving cream, and everything went normal. So I don't think the problem is that big. I am sure you will manage to solve it. In case there is something else I can help you with, feel free to text me.
