I am new to AA and was told by the pharmacist that there is a vitamin or supplement I should be taking but he couldn't find the information for which one it was. Does anyone have any suggestions? I currently just take a multivitamin and hate taking any medications unless I absolutely have to.

Also, do most of you find that your Alopecia gets worse when you are stressed. I was given additional job duties in March and my job became much more stressful. Then on May 25 my friend told me that I had a bald spot on the top of my head. Within two weeks it had doubled in size but has only gotten slightly larger since starting treatment with Betamethasone creme three weeks ago. Thanks.

hey thank u, that was so gd to hear news like that, im bak at my dermatologist on monday so will find out then. the hair thats growin looks a gd sign so far as it has lots growin on the top like new baby hair and the sides and bak have hair comin in but takin longer, but feel lots better now, x
Hi Aimee,
Thanks for the information. I am 44 and there is no history in the family of Alopecia so I am hopeful that it will regrow. Someone else had also said that if you get it later in life and not as a child that you are more likely not to have recurrences or develop into AT or AU.

The thing that bothers me the most is that I find myself thinking about it the AA the time. Will it get bigger, will I get more areas. Currently I have one spot that is a little larger than 1"X1" and a smaller spot that is only the size of your finger nail. As I read many of your responses and blogs I think that so far I am very lucky. Information is the key. You and the others have helped me with this and I think I will be able to relax a little more since I have more information.
hiya trish how r u, i was recommened to take echinacea and abc plus as they r for ur immune system, mine wasnt workin so great so i thot theres no harm in tryin something, im not sure if they've bn wkin ive bn takin them now for about 4wks, but my nails have become so strong and have grown really long, i NEVER have strong and long nails, so they must be doin something rite, but google vitamins on the comp and find something that u think is rite for u, gd luck, x
Hi Lynne,
I am doing fine. Thanks for the information. I have heard of echinacea but not the abc plus. Did you start them right away after being diagnosed or did you try them later when you realized that your hair wasn't growing back? I can always use stronger nails so that is definitely a plus.
Remember 80% have full remission in about a year doing nothing or even rubbing a cheese grater on your head. Makes no difference!

God, I hope you're right!
Is this really true? That 80% go into full remission? My Dermo mentioned it, but because there is no solid answer, she is careful on how she words things. My Naturopathic Dr. also mentioned that when it occurs late in life, remission is almost always the outcome, although it may reoccur or go away. I guess mine is still only 3 months old, so my dermo said it would get a bit worse before it got better. I'm really holding out hope that this 80% deal is true.
