Just wondering if anyone else is getting headaches when wearing their wig all day (9 hrs.)? I've just been wearing my Rene of Paris monotop wig for the last few weeks but this past week I almost had a headache every day. The wig itself doesn't seem too tight. I even removed the adjusting straps to make sure it stretches properly and I stretched it with my hands a little. Headache was worst when I wore the Revlon Mesh Cap Liner underneath because it was too tight and cut into my skin. I switched back to wearing a nylon cap because of wig slippage issues and it all seems to be fine and not too tight at all, except that I do get headaches now. Does anyone have a remedy for that?

The same thing happend to me too, I think I just eventually got used to my wig. I wear a lace wig with a nylon cap underneath. The best nylon cap I have found I purchased through http://store.mslola.com/accessories.html It was the $7.00 cap. The cap has a wider band so it does not squeeze your head.

I yah I also get headache after 5 or 6 hrs waering a wig continously. I guess its coz its is something which out head it carrying & the tightness of the elastic makes it uncomfortable for the head to bear it for long.
Yeah, me too. Sometimes I think it is psychosomatic with me, cuz I really dislike wearing my wig. My wig is not very tight either and I use a little bit of tape up front for that extra security but there are times that I start getting a headache after having it on for 10 minutes.
My friend wears Peggy Knight Solutions and says she never gets a headache.
I completely got headaches when I started wearing a wig. I found that the more stressed I am in life, the worse it was. My son was in the hospital and it killed me!!! maybe the cap stretched a little, too. The cap does annoy and causes major irritation. I live in a very hot climate and don't think a vacuum wig would work, but it looks appealing!
I don't wear wigs usually, but sometimes, having a wig or a tight hat on my head, I have headaches immediately. It seems me that it's the change of temperature which may make the haedaches.
Thanks for your input ladies. Good to know that I am not the only one who gets headaches when wearing a wig. Thanks Becca for the nylon cap link. I might try that or perhaps even try a different brand of wigs sometime. For now I just have to deal with it. Kinda sucks.
Hello, I know this post is very old...I came here to see if anyone else was experiencing headaches with wigs and surprised to see so many have experienced the same. I've tried different wigs. I have traction alopecia, I've tried different methods to help me cope with this shots, oils, meds etc. I've even tried shaving it a few times to build confidence that was short lived. I'm just ok my feelings today and wanted to share with the group. Anyone else feel like this some days : /
I am getting something similar although it's not a typical headache it's a feeling of pressure and almost makes me dizzy. It's an odd feeling.
I was getting but with a wig that I have for hats (there is no hair on top to allow your head to "breathe" beneath the hat) I thought the hat was maybe too snug but today I wore my full wig and after 3 hours I started to get that pressure feeling in my head and felt lightheaded. I ended up taking it off in the privacy of my office and it got better after an hour or so.
Anyone else have this?
