Are there any success stories with squaric acid?

I have been battling diffuse/ophiasis pattern AA for over a year now. I still have some hair and have had regrowth, but I still have a long way to go. I have tried just about all treatments out there with the exception of squaric acid, which my doctor has recommended for the stubborn areas. This treatment just sounds so nasty, and I was wondering if anyone has had any success with it.
