Hi Barbara,
My daughter just turned 10 and has had alopecia since she was 2. If you contact the childrens alopecia project (CAP)they do have a penpal program for the kids. They can email and/or write to each other. They also have parent chats that you can attend as well. You can contact them and they will set you up. Also, I don't know where you live, but there are some CAP local groups that you can attend their meetings and meet other parents and kids. It is important for the kids to realize that they are not alone.

Thank you for the information. I did contact CAP and saw a name listed in my local area. I haven't found a local support group yet, but I will do some research! Thanks for responding to my email.

Hi, my name is Kirsty and my 10 year old would like some one to talk to as well. We live in Pa, I am going to let her type a message, she feels the same way..:) She was diagnosed in December, and has lost about 70% of her hair.

I am Alyssa and I am nine. I am also happy to talk to someone who has alopecia too. I would love to be your penpal. I am scared too because I get shots in my head. What is your favorite snack? Mine is potatoe chips. What is your favorite color? Mine is pink. I hope we can talk to each other soon.

I cant wait right to you again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .I might have to get shots to over the summer.And my favorite snack is potato chips to I love love love any kind of potato's .
