I am wondering how many of us have the same co-existing conditions along with the AA?
I have terrible allergies, and a book I was reading described dermatitis herpetiformis, and it is often related to gluten intolerance and AA! I have dermatitis herpetiformis, fortunately a mild case, just one recurring spot that I have gotten off and on for 20 years.
I also have bad rosacea and hidradenitis suppurativa. ALL of these seem to be autoimmune problems and often tied to diet. I do have some known food allergies/intolerances with eggs being the worst.
I am going to try to go gluten free for awhile and see if there is any difference with any of these issues, but wondered how many of you have these other conditions as well?
Interested to see what everyone has to say.

So gluten sensitivity seems to be a factor for both of you. Wonder if that is true for most?
I have AA and also have a gluten sensitivity (Have not been tested for Celiac) and general seasonal allergies.
I also have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS).
I have AA and really bad eczema.
The Doctor at first tried to blame my AA on me being a life-long vegetarian.
I certainly think the alopecia and the eczema are connected.
