Actually, I should have asked that too, Jocelyn.

I'm curious to know...when hormones are introduced or discontinued, if women were noticing a difference to their hair.

After a year and a half of losing all my hair, I have been through every option I can think of to rectify an obvious disruption to my body (e.g. vitamins, eliminating soy due to the correlation to the thyroid etc). What didn't occur to me was a possible link to the contraceptive pill.

In my case, just weeks after I stopped the pill (after being on it for 15 or so years), my hair started to fall out. It never occurred to me until recently, possibly the lack of synthesized hormones could have a large part to play. There seems to be a wealth of information about female hair loss and the pill on the net.

My first patch of missing hair showed up 2 years after I gave birth to my second child. I chose not to use the pill after she was born because of the hassle and the cost. Went with an IUD instead. *sigh* We had finished nursing a few months prior to the beginning of my AA. I've also read that hair loss can be associated with the craziness of our hormones before, during and esp. after giving birth. Ugh.
