I am probably 2/3 bald but where I still have hair, I have SERIOUS dandruff (it only started when I started shaving my head). Sorry if this grosses anyone out, but its that bad that if I rub my head, it just goes everywhere and it's visibly noticeable. I really want to go look at some new wigs but there is no way in hell I am going with my head looking like this.......or ever. It would be totally embarassing let alone unhygeinic because it would flake onto the wigs I would be trying on. So I kind of need a solution.

It tends to be worse when I shave my head. I do it every 3 weeks or so. Otherwise I usually just wet my head in the shower and I shampoo every now and then (whats the point).

Nicole what are you using to shave your head? I have about 40% of my hair left but shave everyday. i use a HEADBLADE and the products and i on't have that problem. If you are not using a HEADBLADE go and buy a headblade and the products and see if it clears up. I think it will.
I Just use something the hairdresser recommended to me but I have to put oil on the blades so it runs smoothly. I was thinking that could be my problem? But I seriously put 2-4 drops on the blades and I am only doing that every 3 weeks or so. Do you think some sort of dandruff shampoo/conditioner would work?
I think that you should try dandruff shampoo. You may need to talk to your dermatologist and get a prescription for this. We can't do much about the alopecia but you can control dandruff. Don't freak out about trying on a wig. Buy one of those wig caps, which you can get on-line . You can put that on and then try on wigs.
hey i have had this problem, but have hopefully sorted it, i have recently using t-gel (this is a tar bas dandruff shampoo in the uk) additionally used a hydro cortisone for a week till the flaking areas cleared. hope this helps
