I have just started to research diet and its effect on AA as well as what supplements are good for AA, including probiotics. My doctor says that none of it has any effect, but I disagree. I think autoimmune diseases begin in the digestive tract and nutrients or lack of, do have an effect. The problem is that I don't know what I should eat or not eat, and without being tested, I think I would have to eliminate everything but fruit and veggies, and other than vitamins for hair containing B Vitamins, Biotin and Vitamin D, I don't know what other supplements are good for AA. There seems to be some controversy over whether fish oil and/or probiotics are good or bad for autoimmune diseases. Has anyone had any success with changing diet or taking certain supplements.

I started a new diet and was on the high end of average weight. I lost 24 lbs in 30 days. I also have regrown a majority of my hair. I have my post being approved right now for my story. 

Yes! My 40 years of AU STOPPED after adding probiotics and supplements and Whole Foods. I am still shocked. I use Thera Lac probiotics every day. also, check out green smoothie girl.com. She reversed autoimmune conditions. AU for so long killed off so many follicles I will always need a wig, but having the back of my head having hair is weird! Gut health is the key in my opinion. Good supplements are a must as you can’t eat enough food to meet your needs. Oh, also, check out Dr. Hyman on Facebook. He is a functional medicine doctor ( let food be your medicine.) some of you CAN turn off alopecia, I’m sure!
